Lourdes Maria Casanova
Her high school years reflect her motivation to become a lawyer. In addition to the honor of having graduated with the best grades of her year at Royal Palm Beach High School, Lourdes was involved in different organizations including the “National Honor Society,” “Sociedad Honoraria Hispana” and “Student Council.” Lourdes came to be president of the “Sociedad Honoraria Hispana” in the year 2005.
Lourdes is proud of her “Alma Mater” and her team “Florida Gators,” as she earned her Bachelor of Arts and Doctorate in Law from the University of Florida. She graduated with Cum Laude honor on both occasions. Lourdes got certified in English, Spanish and also in Portuguese during her pre-graduate studies. As a law student, she completed internships that included civil and criminal court, working both for the State Attorney’s Office and for prestigious firms that deal with personal injuries.Lourdes began her legal career as a prosecutor in the Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office. In his two years as an Assistant State Attorney, she litigated hundreds of cases including domestic violence, theft, DUI and other crimes. Lourdes conducted more than 40 trials during her stay at the State Attorney’s Office.
Lourdes later worked for a prominent Coral Gables Florida firm specializing in personal injury and medical malpractice, and then returned to Palm Beach County as an associate of a local firm in the criminal defense and immigration branches. Lourdes gained experience in immigration matters in terms of deportations, inadmissibility, visas and appeals processes. During this period, Lourdes also enriched her knowledge in the criminal justice branch she had acquired during her stay at the State Attorney’s Office.
In December 2015, Lourdes founded Casanova Law to continue her dream of serving her community through personalized legal services. Lourdes is dedicated to providing individual quality representation to each client in the areas of Criminal Defense, Immigration and Traffic Fines.
